Rocking some of the best nightlife, meeting great new friends, doing some amazing sightseeing, and watching the most amazing show of Cholitas Wrestling fills the few days spent in South America's highest city. http://www.tonygavilanes.com/elmundoreal19.html We're getting closer to Ecuador as we pass across all of Argentina to make it to Uyuni on the edge of the largest salt flat in the world. It is 25 times larger than any in the U.S., and the two of us take full advantage climbing volcanoes and waking up earlier than the sun for some of the best views in the world... http://www.tonygavilanes.com/elmundoreal18.html Maleficent magnificence magnified my mortal mutterings. The two of us spent a full day on each side of the falls: Brazil & Argentina. However, we still got everything on our list done! We were so tired of not speaking Portuguese and things being expensive. Beaches, bums, beautiful scenery from the hills, and one of the coolest nightclubs ever. Rio De Janeiro proved that it really is all about the sexy. http://www.tonygavilanes.com/elmundoreal15.html Following through, Tony and Lacy visit Stanley in the Falklands where they find the holy grail. Then they meet Peggy (Tony's mom) in Buenos Aires after two days of partying at sea. This episode is the longest of all, but rich with the best times a ship can offer... http://www.tonygavilanes.com/elmundoreal14.html Our heros finally arrive at the holy land, their Holland America 16-day Cruise. Departing out of Chile and traveling down through the Straight of Magellan and the Chilean Fjords, stopping at a couple small cities until they reached Ushuaia, Argentina (the southernmost city in the world!). Absolute luxury, incredible views, and an average of 7 meals a day... this is the first half of our Cruise adventure. http://www.tonygavilanes.com/elmundoreal13.html The last stop before the cruise! The kids jump down to the sea port city off of Santiago where famed poet Pablo Neruda was enchanted by the sea and artistic culture of the town. The colors of the hills were a sight not to be missed from the many elevators all over the city, in addition to a visit to the country's largest nightclub... http://www.tonygavilanes.com/elmundoreal12.html So they thought that Cusco was good... Chile's capital laid out some of the best times on this journey so far. With hospitable and beaufitul people, subway metro systems, and gastronomy to die for, these two soaked up the city like Chilean wine soaked their spirits! http://www.tonygavilanes.com/elmundoreal11.html At the foot of the Misti Volcano, our adventurers explore the museums, convents, and wonders of this Spanish colonial city. Complete with Incan mummy children that were sacrificed and nuns that faked their own deaths, Arequipa has a history as rich as any other city, if not richer. http://www.tonygavilanes.com/elmundoreal10.html The Incan capitol city and home to some of South America's best parties, Cusco turned out to prove it's worth ten times over. From paralyzing caterpillars, to deadly run-in's with cliffs, Lacy and Tony manage even a 24-hour span up Machu Picchu and back to the bars for a dance party. With great new friends, this certainly is one of our favorite cities so far! http://www.tonygavilanes.com/elmundoreal9.html Situated right on beach cliffs with tropical weather all year long, Lima's goose habitats and silverworks were not to be missed! The duo ventures out from the usual and finds cheap fruit on the beach and great times with huge bottles of beer. http://www.tonygavilanes.com/elmundoreal8.html We're off on our backpacking journey tonight and so excited about the next two months on the road. 8 or more countries, cruise, a week in Rio... We're in for it.
